Accessing all the Vancouver Bridges
Update notes: finished adding all the bridges, added a link to photos. I will try to format everything to be a bit nicer and/or make a copy at another location that allows for easienicer formatting. As requested by raleighspritely in the other bridges thread, this post is intended to help generally newer riders figure out specifically how to get onto each bridge in each direction, where all most of the exit options go and any other weirdnesses each bridge may have. I'll assume you know roughly where you are and roughly how to get to each bridge. Some are easy to find the entrances for (Burrard), some are weird (Cambie, southbound) and some have entrances a long way from where the cars access (Golden Ears) so if they're super weird I'll try and give you more specifics. Photos from the day showing most of the bridges: https://imgur.com/a/RvTUs0V (missing: 2nd Narrows, KSB, Canada Line, Arthur Liang) And now to talking about crossing bridges! Granville - follow the instructions for Burrard or Cambie If you insist on using the GSB (don't) SB access is easiest via Howe St and NB access at 5th & Granville Burrard Easiest to get onto IMO as the access is right at the ends of the bridge
South Bound: connection is at Pacific & Burrard, SW corner. From Beach Ave your options are up Thurlow from the east end of Sunset Beach or just along Pacific from the west end of Sunset beach
as you get to the south end of the bridge @ Cornwall you can:
go right to Cornwall & Cypress
go straight, across Cornwall
then right onto Yew
more straight to Burrard & First where you can go up Burrard St
left @ Burrard & First towards Granville Island
North Bound: connection is at Cornwall & Burrard. You can also hop on the bike lane easily at 1st & Burrard
as you get to the north end you can:
right to Hornby & Pacific
across Pacific then left onto Pacific towards English Bay
straight & up the hill along Burrard to Drake, Burnaby St, Davie St
Cambie Going southbound on Cambie is super weird to get to unless you're already on Nelson St
South Bound: access is on Nelson St @ Cambie St which downtown is running almost perpendicular to the bridge. If you're coming from the northeast you can connect via Beatty
the main exit will take you to Olympic Village Station
If you cut off early (through the flexibarriers) you can pop up Cambie to go left/right on 7th
If you stay till the station you can hang a hard left at 2nd to cut under the bridge and go to Olympic Village
or cross 2nd and take Heather St south
or continue along 2nd briefly to find yourself on Seaside Bypas
North Bound: access is at Cambie & 2nd by the VPD headquarters on 5th. It's that weird intersection of numbered streets you thought were parallel but also manage to intersect
veer left takes you onto what is technically a pedestrian only way that connects to Pacific Blvd EB, yield to pedestrians.
right takes you onto a hairpin
first right connects you to Cooperage Way/Marinaside and basically the Seawall
second right will take you up a short ramp and connect to the Smithe St bike "lane" which can be used to connect to Pacific WB, Richards or all the way up the hill past Burrard & Smithe
Lion's Gate North Bound:
climb the Causeway through Stanley Park, it's not too bad especially with the "new" fence
do a 1/2 Stanley Park loop and as you go around the right turn at what you'll think is the top of the hill you'll see a road to the left with a gate, take that and turn right when you hit the causeway
watch for the little chicane just before the bridge
descent down the north side of bridge can be a bit rough & bumpy
when you get to the north end stay right and go down the little road
if you go HARD right when it levels out you can connect to
the Spirit Trail east bound
Taylor Way which will take you to Parkgate, hang a left at the mall and you can connect to the trail over to Ambleside
if you go roughly straightl/left it'll connect onto Marine and along to Capilano
South Bound:
once you're back directly under the bridge, there's a ramp up the west side of the bridge going north, take that, it'll open up and hang a hard right to turn to face south
on exit at the pumphouse(?) you can
continue south
you'll come across a road to the right, taking it will get you to Park Dr just before Prospect Point
continuing straight takes you along the Causeway and connects onto Georgia ST
hang a 180deg right, then you can either:
cut under the bridge to go back north
go left up a fairly steep, narrow paved path to Prospect Pt
Second Narrows/IronworkersThis is one of the weirdest/awkwardest, particularly at the north end North Bound:
access is at Cambridge & Cassiar. You can connect up via Cassiar from Adanac or Bridgeway St & a small path if you're coming from Portside
as you turn right off Cassiar onto Cambridge take the small path to the left, follow the path down, along and up and it'll take you straight onto the bridge, yield to oncoming people
alternate access is a path off the left side of Fellowes st. It connects closer to the bridge deck but IMO isn't worth taking
Exits:
as you round the right turn of the ramp you can:
go left at the pedestrian controlled crosswalk and
cross Main to go west to Phibbs, A&W etc
hard left onto the bike path parallel to Main and connect to the WB bike path on Barrow st
go straight and connect to Dollarton, Old Dollarton
left on Old Dollarton then onto Riverside or Seymour River can be used for getting to Seymour Parkway, right goes up to Seymour, left can connect to Cap U
straight on Dollarton can be used for going out to Deep Cove
South Bound Access is here basically across from Phibbs. Many ways to get to it, but you've gotta get to that spot to go south. Exiting: takes you down through the trees, watch for the pair of switchbacks. You'll end up at the bottom of Skeena St.
right takes you onto the Portside bike route
left takes you up Skeena through the tunnel
turn right across the crosswalk as you exit the tunnel takes you onto the path you may have used for getting onto the bridge NB, go left to connect back to Cassiar
continue up the hill gets you to Skeena & Cambridge
it's 6 of One, Half a Dozen of the other if you're going south
Arthur Laing I regard this as an "experts only" type bridge that I wouldn't recommend to anyone not comfortable with riding in fairly close proximity to cars. There's no separated lane and just a narrow shoulder. That said, I don't feel unsafe on this bridge for some reason, but that might just be from riding it a bunch and being used to riding next to cars. Anyways, onto how to get on/off: Southbound: access is via the car ramp at where Marine & Granville all come together in a 6 lane clusterfuck that was meant to be the highway through Vancouver. Normally I access coming off NW Marine, onto the clusterfuck, pick up speed down the hill and (with a lot of shoulder checking) get across the right most lane onto the ramp. Go up the ramp and stick to the right. Exiting: things get dicey/exciting. You'll be crossing roads at speed so be shoulder checking.
Just before the car exit (and right before the overpass) you can dive right onto a pathway
going right, then right again is probably easiest for most connections here
this path can be used to go around McArthurGlen and connect to Grauer Rd and then onto Templeton to Iona
take it to connect to Airport Rd and the bit of mess of trails and eventuall down to Russ Baker Way
1st Car Right: Russ Baker Way, takes you around an off-ramp, will take you SB and connects to No2 Rd
cross Russ Baker exit (watch for cars exiting), keep going along, you can go right on Templeton and go out to Iona Beach
North Bound: you can either access off the paths off Airport Rd here or by riding north along Russ Baker Way and basically sticking right and following the signs to Vancouver. Exiting: again a bit dicey with some potential lane crossing
Sticking right takes you left and onto Marine WB/Granville
If it's not too busy and/or you brought your sprinter legs, you can hammer and cross lanes to go left at the first light and connect onto Marine
If not, carefully get to the right and make your way up to cross at the same light.
crossing over (carefully) to the left ramp will take you right and onto Marine EB. You can take your first right and go down Oak St, left on Kent Ave S and eventually connect to Cambie St. I don't know if I've taken this route more than once or twice so YMMV.
Pitt River This is one of the nicest crossings. All the recently built (or updated) bridges are really, really nice once you're on the deck (Pitt River, Port Mann, Golden Ears + Ironworkers post update). The cycle/pedestrian lane is on the north side of the span and is nice and wide. Access on the west end requires crossing Belfast Ave/Fremont Connector that loops under the bridge. Since access is all for the one side crossing my instructions are written for West->East travel but basically just do them in reverse for East->West. Coming from NW (Trabouley Poco Trail/Deboville Slough), you do a couple zigzags and hairpins and crossing Belfast St but you can see your target the whole time so this bridge is honestly one of the easiest to get onto. Coming from the SW, you go under the bridge parallel to the Fremont Connector then see the access to your left. If you were to keep going on the path instead you'd eventually end up at Deboville Slough. East end of the bridge drops you in Pitt Meadows. As you exit (eastbound) you can immediately do 180deg turn left to get onto the trails. Another left at the river to go south, north and you can make your way out to Pitt Lake on the trails. To access the trail parallel to, and on the south side of, Lougheed Highway take the left at the river then left again at Ferryslip Rd. If you go straight Old Dewdney Trunk Rd is a pretty nice ride towards Maple Ridge. Golden Ears Alright, this one is possibly the most difficult unless you know exactly where to go, partly because they're a long way along the bridge from where cars access. The Southbound Access is at 113B & Airport Way (Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows). The northbound access is at 100A Ave & 201St (Langley) Southbound
You can access the SB access either from Airport Way (coming from the west) or along Maple Meadows Way (coming from the north by Meadowcentre mall). If you're coming from the north or east you go west at the 113B roundabout, cross the road, then left at the second roundabout and hop into the bike lane. If you're coming from the east hang a right at the roundabout and hop into the bike lane.
The SB exit involves a rather fun ramp down and drops you in an industrial area. Unless you're going east, my recommendation is work your way west until you get to 98A & 192, cross to the far side then hop on the GoldenEars Greenway.
Northbound Access is at 100A Ave & 201St. You go up the multilevel round ramp. Your exit will basically be the aforementioned 113B roundabout, you can go straight through it to get onto Maple Meadows Way towards the mall, right will change into 203St as it turns north or go left and west towards the airport. Canada Line Bridge This one is on the side of the Canada Line bridge section between Marine & Cambie Station & Bridgeport Station. North connection is on Kent Ave S @ Cambie. However you have to go east from Kent Ave N & Cambie to turn south to get onto Kent Ave S and access the ramp. If you're coming down Cambie, hang a right on Kent Ave N. South Connection is at River Road and Van Horne Way. If you're going North then east, my recommendation is take Cambie north, then cut east at 59th. Kent Ave N between Cambie and Ontario sucks butt and cars are frequently impatient assholes on that section (it's also rough, needs a repave and has a lot of rail tracks). If you're going north then west you can go west on Kent Ave N and then right on Heather before climbing a bit and taking the westbound route of your choice. If you're just going north then Cambie, Ontario & Heather are all pretty good choices with Ontario & Heather being quieter. I can't remember how all of Heather's crossings are since I haven't ridden it past 59th in years. If you're going South, you can go:
west along River Rd towards the casino & Bridgeport Station
continue SW around the clusterfucks that are Bridgeport Rd, SeaIsland Way and you can return to River Rd and hop onto a gravel trail that you can take pretty much all the way to Steveston
south on Van Horne way to eventually connect onto Garden City Way. This route is about 95% bike lane but theres a one or two spots where taking the sidewalk is unfortunately the prudent choice (I think the south side of Sea Island Way for ~50m) before the bike lane reappears.
east on River Rd towards Shell Rd. If you take Shell Rd far enough south there's a gravel trail that you can use to get to Hammersmith Gate, Horseshoe Way and across to Rice Mill Rd where you can find the Massey Tunnel Shuttle (this is my quiet route to the ferry, my fast route is to hammer south on No5)
Formatting is becoming a pain because this is getting long. Sorry! Port Mann This one is like the Pitt River Bridge in that the pedestrian/bike path is only on the north/east side of the bridge deck. West access is where the Port Mann passes over United Boulevard and where Unite intersects the Mary Hill Bypass offramps. If you're coming off the bridge you can go south/west on United and eventually work your way over towards Braid Station. If you go east on the Mary Hill Bypass you can connect to the Traboulay PoCo trail, Argue St and work your way up to the Pitt River bridge. There's also a mess of trails in and around Colony Farm but you're on your own for that :) East access is a ways up a pretty decent hill at 152st/112Ave by Dogwood Campgrounds. If you're going north/west, the signage is good. Just don't take the overpass over the highway. How you get to 152/112...up to you. It's a big grid! Alex Fraser Ok, this one is another bit of a mess in terms of access. I don't think this one is technically unidirectional like the others, but I recommend riding the same way as cars are travelling and this guide will be based on that. Careful on the deck, there's a bunch of spots where you have to dodge the bases of signs and other spots where the path just shifts left/right. Southbound: You've made it over the Queensborough or come in from Richmond. You've made it onto the Annacis Channel bridge and are approaching Annacis island. You'll see a bus-stop on an island, you want to get there (if not busy, drop the curb & cut across, otherwise there's a crosswalk to use), take the crosswalk that goes parallel to the bus-only section of intersection, onto the sidewalk on the far-far side and then left and you'll see the path onto the bridge. You'll get dropped off with the choice of left or right. Left takes you towards HWY17, River Rd which are the two options for getting to the ferry (take River, it's quieter and only marginally slower). Right will take you under the bridge, and after you go past Planet Ice you can go left towards River Rd east, right-then-right to get onto Nordel north/east or just right for the Delta-South Surrey Greenway. If you're trying to get to South Surrey, go as if you're going up Nordel, get over the overpass, then take the trail that cuts back to the right. This is the North Delta Greenway and is superior to the DSS Greenway in basically every way including being WAY smoother (I ride it on my carbon road bike on 25mm tires). North Bound: Starting from Planet Ice, take the path up onto the bridge, ride across, question why you're out here and didn't just take the Massey Shuttle to get home faster... At the north end of the bridge, you'll end up next to the Annacis exit ramp. At the end of it, you want to take the small crosswalk onto the island with the bus stop, across Cliveden ave onto the island on the far side, then across another little crosswalk onto the path and hang a left. Stick to this path, you'll go back over the Annacis Channel and find yourself at a zig-zagging ramp. At the bottom of that you have the options of:hard right: path through to Hamilton Highway Park where you can take an overpass towards River Rd left then right: onto Boundary Rd then Dyke rd, you can use this to get over towards Westminster Highway via Fraserwood Way. left then left (generally recommended): take Boundary Rd north. At Boundary & Boyd you can go right to the Queensborough or left onto Westminster Hwy which you can use to get all the way to Richmond or to connect to River Rd Queensborough because New West is at a 45deg angle I'll be using "up/down and top/bottom" for this bridge because it's effectively a hill. Top is 22nd St station end, bottom is Queensborough Landing. The top connection is just below 22nd St Station. If you're coming from 22nd St station just take the bridge down, it'll drop you on Boyd St. Left takes you to QB Landing. Right takes you to...not a lot. It's narrow, you'll probably have to slow down a bunch as you pass people. If you're coming from Market Crossing area or New West (both via Marine Dr) I recommend taking the "up" side of the bridge down because it has about 1% of the traffic the "down" side does. To get to it, the access is the ramp on the "cars up" side of the bridge. Otherwise, you can use the ramp on the "cars down" side to connect to the "down" side. Either way as you're going down, watch for the hairpins at the bottom! If you're going up and heading to downtown New West take the "up" side. Head east along Marine/Stewardson. You can eventually head right down a side street to get to S&O because that's why you're in New West right? If not, you're at S&O now. Best way to get through to the rest of downtown is via the Quay. If you're going up and heading to anywhere else take the "down" side and go all the way to 22nd St Station. Right and past the station connects to 7th Ave across New West. Left you can use to get onto both Marine Dr or Marine Way to go west to Market Crossing, Big Bend, Glenlyon, River District. Straight turns into the BC Parkway and travels under the skytrain past Edmonds, Royal Oak, Metrotown stations. Knight St Recommendation: if you can, keep going west and take the Canada Line Bridge. This bridge was NOT intended for cyclists at all as you're about to learn and this section may get a little rant-y. Northbound:
Access is off Bridgeport. Technically you're not supposed to ride on the roadway, but the sign for that is so late onto the bridge you have to know this in advance unless you want to stop and lift your bike over the concrete barrier.
That said, assuming you knew to get onto the sidewalk somewhere at the start of the on-ramp before the barrier begins (it starts at a crosswalk and there's no curb cut), you'll be riding on a pretty narrow sidewalk with barriers both sides. It's rough.
You'll eventually get to an off-ramp, this is Mitchell Island. You'll need to take the crosswalk across to the left. The cut in the barrier is super narrow. Cross the island, drop the curb (again no curb cut) and cross to the next section of sidewalk. Continue north.
Next spot you'll get to gives the option of a crosswalk to the left, riding straight into a post in the middle of the path, or dodging the post and continuing straight/veering right. Go right, this takes you down to Marine Dr.
At Marine you'll find signs pointing to the Kent, Inverness & Borden bike routes
Kent involves following the path to the right and taking your first right
Inverness involves taking the couple crosswalks and getting across Marine, going under the KSB overpass, hop back on the sidewalk after the bridge and follow the signs up to Inverness
Borden I've never done, but I think involves getting across Marine, then taking the sidewalk east to the first street north
[Counter Response To] THAILAND IS RACISTS BECAUSE FARANG CAN'T BUY LAND and THAIS GET DISCOUNTS AT PARKS.
Thailand is not a Democracy yet I feel more free in the Kingdom than in California. Another day another thread or comment is posted on reddit about a FARANG talk crap about Thailand. Yet THAILAND has 3 of their cities in "Most Traveled to Cities in the World" Visa did a stats on this and many other sources corroborated. Why is that? Racists? Xenophobe? Rude culture? Then why do people come? Allow me to play Devil's advocate: 1) FARANG can't buy land not because of racism but because of CAPITALISM. THAILAND PROTECT KING'S LAND for ITS PEOPLE to purchase at affordable price per Rai. Examples: Look at California coastal cities to Oregon to Washington to Vancouver BC. Most of THE LANDS ARE OWNED BY MULTI NATIONAL CORPORATIONS BANKERS. It baffles me when citizen of its own country who parents live in the area cannot afford rent where they grew up. Some old ass landlord dude bottleneck the whole zip code innovation from young people by purchasing up all land and making rent more than 50% of young people's income. People work to pay rent rather than live their life doing passion or other services. So many people are now doing "VaN LiFe, LiveLovePrayTraveltoThailand90daysVisaHopsElepahantPants" Young people suffers from: No private property, no care, no sense of belonging at all. So much pressure for young men, so high suicide rates and divorce due to RENT. It's always comes down to roof over your head. Look at Facebook owner Zuckerberg. He owns half the island in Hawaii. Look at Jamaica and other islands around it. All resorts own by few rich dudes. People can't access most beaches only one public beach. Look at Manila. Homeless Citizens everywhere eating PAG PAG aka throw away KFC in trash while landlords gets fat. Same constitution as USA. Facsimile. Look at Burma, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Rich military men has multiple wives Helicopters for medivac. Regular citizen get snake bit in the field. No BTS. NO SPEED TRAIN. Good luck fighting cobra bite on motor bike for 45 minutes to "Hospital". 10 Families own half Florida land mass. Al Jazeera UK usually anti Thailand just released in Youtube video praising Thailand Swiztzerland has program sending their elder to Thailand to lives rest of their lives with nuero disease. It's great news but it's kinda funny how they outsource their elder to other country and Switz and Sweden supposed to be best country in the world LOL. Thailand last resort https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7yeiO-UZoM Read the comments how many Switz praise Thai ways of respecting elder. Look at California. City of Irvine. 4th safest city in United States. 90% own by Irvine Company. It's a big slum lord company with crazy HOA with high tax. You can never own especially with student loan. Look with San Francisco. You can make 100k per year and live in a shack 3k per month. You think an average Thai can afford that life style? Western born people even can't afford land in country like the United States land of the FREE so how can Thai? Unless you wanna live in Tornado alley where your life saving can be wiped in 1 shot. Then yes you cann buy a Mcmansion for a 100k. You yourself will likely pay way more once Thailand becomes democracy. Lands are not gonna be affordable like you think. With outside money, China will swiped right the whole coasts and turn it into Casino like in LAOS, Cambodia and Vancouver Africa. Those videos that FARANG JOE posts on youtube for $200/month BEACH FRONT RENTAL PROPERTY IN PRACHUAP KIRIKHAN etc will be all GONE. It will be like $200 a night bungalo cut out from street with all kind of HOA laws and everything will costs 3 times more due to permit. 30 BAHT street food bowl of BAH MEE MOO DANG from mom and pops shops? Low rent means cheap food. LMAO now 90 BAHT with RENT MARK UP TO GO TO IPO COMPANY WHO JUST ENTERED SP500. Look at USA LANDSCAPE nothing but malls, starbucks, and amazon warehouses. It takes 16 licenses to open a lemonade stand in California. Costs ramification is a lot to an average person. It's not racism at all. Thailand wants Thai to be self reliant and proud business owner. Capitalism kills small businesses Ask Jeff Bayso who during COVID 19 Earnings in first three months equivalent to $33m an hour. If you want to own property buy condo or buy land but do it the right way and marry a good woman or man. You gonna pass it on to your sons and daughters anyway so who cares. Make babies, plant flag and hold down your land with your wife. If you marry a bar girl and she leaves you, you cannot blame Thailand. You lost your virginity and felt in love with your first warm cherries pie and then it's on you. Bar girls slept with 10,000 dudes by the time she retires at ripe age of 30. I get some people don't care about body count as long as no STD but generally they are harder to bond with. Think about it, would you hire someone to manage your business who leaves his job every week for a new job on his resume? No loyalty. They will run and find another sucker. Don't blame anyone but yourself. 2) Thailand has CONSCRIPTION aka ALL MEN MUST SERVE. United States has VETERAN DISCOUNTS almost everywhere and has PX for active duty services and VET only electronic stores and booze and cigarettes no tax. Memorial days discounts and perks. Wear a dress Blue??? Free meals all day. A group of Marine got on the same boat with me and my buddies from Long Beach to Catalina island fishing for scorpion fish. We paid $100 each for 4 hours fishing. Marines all paid 25% less than us due to military discount. I AM PERFECTLY FINE WITH THAT. They served, gave up few years of their youth for service. GOOD FOR THEM HOORAH. Many average male in Thailand including your sons has to serve unless u hide him from Thailand until he is 30 years old. Many of them also has to be a monk one season for "GrAnDPaRenTz GoeS To HeavEn FamILy HappY" My point is they don't just get the perks. They have to serve 2 years guarding Cambodian, Laos, Burma, and Malaysia boarder and has to be a monk too. I AM ABSOLUTELY OKAY WITH PAYING 100 BAHT AKA 3 BUCKS to enter National Parks and Somchai can pay 30 BAHT aka 1 DOLLARS. I did not serve. My GDP is higher. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH PAYING FARANG PRICE. The Thais are not racists but are weeding out unorganized grab-asstic Cheap Charlies and sociopath takers who pack the attitude to be confrontational in their beloved Thailand. If you can't save up 800k BAHT aka 27k USD, you have no business leaching and retiring in other countries that you didn't put into the system. People who qualify to retired in Thailand TODAY has a lot higher quality of life than the former Thailand of 20 years ago. Seems like many Farang with Asian wife in particular ran from Neo-Liberalism-Bigbrother-nopersonalfreedom politics with high tax high rental costs and high divorce rate in the west. So why try to make Thailand Democracy like your home you ran from? Which eventually becomes high propety tax like California. Stay out of politics. Everytime USA bring Democracy, someone gets bombed. You're a guest go fix your home. Old people can't even afford medicare copays and rent off SSA. What kind of society just let their elder dies in massive body count during COVID19 in USA hospice. Thais cares way more about old people and even bow to them and answer KRUP OR KRA after every sentence. CHUCKIE AND PAIGE from NOTIME2BESAD just paid 1k PER YEAR for PPO INSURANCE in THAILAND. Thai doctors can make a dude turn to hot ladyboy. Your tumor or nose job is nothing. Them surgeons working in King's hospital are mostly Farang and or Western Medical Educated Thais and only cost a fraction of the US pricing. Retired at 50 years old no need to work hard all your life to 70 years old and break health to make money, then the spent the made money to save health.

Rating 8.7/10 www.singlev.com 5232 Irmin St Burnaby Mon - Fri: 9am-6pm Sat - Sun: 10am-6pm Note: If you want to see all the pictures, maps and whatever else you can read the sexier version of this here: https://www.vancouvercoffeesnob.com/burnaby/single-v-coffee/ Single V Coffee I'll be honest, I don’t really know what South Burnaby is. I once made the mistake of going to Metrotown only to find it’s the Canadian equivalent of a Vegas Casino – once you’re in there’s no bloody way out of the place. I’m pretty sure it’s the bastard love child of an MC Escher painting and the 1980’s movie Labyrinth. RIP Bowie. After several minutes in the fetal position, I ended up having to ask a grown up to help find an exit, lest I burst into tears. I honestly don’t know how you Burnabarbarians tolerate that place. So when I heard there was a new coffee shop that had opened even more south of there I may or may not have not spent some more time in the fetal position. Good news though, I braved the nightmare that is rush hour Kingsway, to visit Single V Coffee; Burnaby’s incredible new coffee shop. Coffee Single V Coffee are the only coffee shop in BC that exclusively serves Cat and Cloud coffee, all the way from California. (Side note, Cat and Cloud are currently being sued by Catterpiller diggers, in the stupidest lawsuit of the century). They’re almost certainly going to catch some flak from not choosing a local roaster, but I’ll leave that aside and tell you about the taste instead. Latte Price – $5 Beans – Cat and Cloud “The Answer” The beans are the standard espresso roast from Cat and Cloud, highlighting some caramel notes. A teeny tiny bit of fruit from the Yirgacheffe beans in the blend added a lighter taste. The whole thing was a delicious caramel and honey, smooth and silky experience. Outstanding. Cappuccino Price – $5 Beans – Cat and Cloud “The Answer” Here we go!! This was getting much more towards my end of the strength spectrum as the rich espresso flavours really shone through the milk with this drink. Complex honeycomb and caramel notes with a chocolate finish, this was definitely my kind of cappuccino. They serve it latte-style with expertly steamed milk. Pour Over Price- $5 Beans – Cat and Cloud Keyna Cat and Cloud have a focus on more accessible coffee, so this came in at about a medium roast level rather than a high acid fruity light roast. That being said, even when this was piping hot, it was really juicy and fruity. As it cooled it mellowed out in a big way, allowing the more toasty flavours to come out. I’d say this is a bang on example of a mid-range coffee that will please those that like the lighter stuff all the way to those that are graduating from the chain coffee style dark roasts. It’s going to be perfect for the demographic in the area. In addition to the above, you can also get assorted teas as well as buy bags of beans to take home. Food Single V is focused mainly on coffee, so whilst their food items are fairly limited, they were really tasty. Roast Beef Sandwich Price – $7 OK, OK I know this doesn’t look especially fancy, but let me tell you, this was quite simply a truly outstanding example of a simple beef sandwich. Supremely tender meat, rich melted swiss cheese and Japanese mayo, wrapped in light fluffy bread in a triple layer stack. The pictures don’t do the taste justice, just trust uncle Vancouver Coffee Snob, you should give this a try! Cranberry Scone Price – $3 I took this one home, slathered it in salty butter and it was a delight. Soft and crumbly but very buttery (even without the pound of butter I added). The cranberries were tart and balanced out the sweetness. Venue White walls, natural wood and leather adorn this place. Not leather in that kind of way you kinky bugger, weathered brown leather seats and stools. The fixings added a retro feel to the place, mixed with modern aesthetics. It’s a really nice, relaxing place to sit and hang out, with some chilled beats playing (seriously you need to go listen to music from Super Duper, it’s, well, super duper). You know by now that I love a good communal table and Single V Coffee had one right in the middle of the shop. In addition, there were some tables and sofa seating scattered around. The communal table had a wireless phone charging point, which was a nice touch. I’d expect the seating to increase in the future as they inevitably get more and more popular. I’ve seen it a million times – ‘less is more’ gets superseded by demand. It’s a great problem to have and I’m sure it’ll happen soon! Bathrooms The single bathroom at Single V Coffee is clean, spacious and nicely designed. The mirror is an especially interesting part of the room, as it’s pretty bloody fancy! Location I’m torn – on one hand, it’s South Burnaby and it scares me. On the other hand, it’s got heaps of parking, all free, a bunch of buses that stop by and a Skytrain station (Royal Oak) about a 5 min walk away. Staff I was fortunate enough to get talking to the owner, Jason, and his brother, Ben. They were both extremely friendly, letting me go behind the bar to take all sorts of close up photos. They know their products inside out and are very passionate about coffee. I felt fully at home despite the fact I was almost certainly annoying them with my incessant questions about coffee! Conclusion Look, I know I was pretty tame in this review but I was worried about being sarcastic to people from South Burnaby. Honestly, they scare me a little. This is because I’m a soft Brit and people from that part of town are considerably tougher than my doughy exterior. Hopefully, they’ll become less terrifying of a horde, now that they have Single V Coffee in their hood. In this snobs opinion, Single V is one of the most exciting coffee shops for a huge distance so they can’t be anything other than successful. It’s exciting to see Gastown quality shops appearing in such distant lands to my house, as it only strengthens the overall coffee scene. OK enough reading, get out there and at least try their sandwiches!

Josh, a 12-year old son of a divorced couple, is presenting his incomplete school paper about a historic event he was tasked to write about. The unamused teacher warns Josh to finish his paper by tomorrow or face being referred to by his parents. After school, Josh goes home to an apartment owned by his father, Hal, an unemployed computer scientist who is doing research for his grand invention, a supercomputer called the XRI (eXtremely Radical Intelligence) that possesses artificial intelligence with the ability to project virtual reality. After dinner, Hal leaves to gather research on a piece of hardware, leaving Josh with the XRI. A curious Josh encounters the XRI and, after being unable to get it to help finish his school work, hooks up his Sega Saturn to play Sonic X-treme.[1] At that moment, Sonic, the game's main character, discovers he has a will of his own and stops responding to Josh's controls. Josh manages to hack into the computer to bring Sonic out of the video game, becoming a 3D character capable of interacting with reality. Josh and Sonic form a bond with each other, but Sonic's departure from Sonic X-treme causes him to lose his power as time goes on and he ends up causing trouble throughout the real world, destroying Josh's apartment and causing car wrecks throughout the city. Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman (identified in the treatment through his real name, Dr. Robotnik) and his minions inadvertently escape the game and look to take over the real world, and Sonic is unable to stop him due to his draining powers.[1] When Hal comes home to see his apartment in ruins, Josh's mother, Lisa, also stops by and the two start to argue. Josh attempts to explain what happened but neither believe him, with both blaming him for the mess. Josh is then taken out of Hal's custody to Lisa's home, where Sonic tracks him down. After leaving the house without Lisa noticing, Josh and Sonic devise a plot to find out about and stop Eggman's scheme by searching for Chaos Emeralds, which are scattered across the real world encased in ordinary rocks. After finding a Chaos Emerald, Sonic uses its power to temporarily regain his strength, and Sonic gives Josh a taste of the power of the emerald to help finish his school work, though Sonic warns Josh not to further exploit the emerald's power until he can master it. At the same time, Dr. Eggman sets up a shell corporation called Shady Corporation and uses it to purchase the abandoned Ramshackle Amusement Park, renaming it Botnikland Amusement Park. He recruits a group of school bullies and roboticizes them into Bullibots. Eggman orders the bots to look around the park and find the remaining Chaos Emeralds.[1] Eggman then runs into Hal, who reluctantly accepts Eggman's offer to be the park's main research and development designer. Using Hal's XRI technology, Eggman develops a virtual reality ride to draw kids to the newly revived theme park. The park opens to huge crowds, with kids all across town attending opening day. However, when Josh and Sonic manage to inspect the ride, they discover Eggman is using the ride to turn the kids into his Badniks, calling them Kinder-Bots and forcing them to look around the park to find the Chaos Emeralds. After further inspection, the duo discover that Eggman, using the Chaos Emeralds, will program the XRI to turn the world's natural landmarks, such as Mount Everest and the Amazon rainforest, into digital replicas so that he can make virtual reality experiences and profit off of people wanting to see them, so that they wouldn't have to visit the landmarks themselves. The BulliBots catch the duo and a chase ensues, ending with a weak Sonic being captured and Josh barely escaping.[1] After the chase, the Kinder-Bots return home, being unconditionally obedient to their parents. Josh hatches a plan to return everything back to normal and return Dr. Eggman back into the game world. The climax has Josh rescue Sonic and the duo battle Dr. Eggman before Josh activates the XRI and causes himself, Sonic, Dr. Eggman and the Badniks to enter Sonic X-treme. Another battle ensues, with a newly rejuvenated Sonic eventually defeating Dr. Eggman with Josh's help. With Eggman's plans foiled, he vows to return and escapes. Sonic decides to stay in his world knowing that it needs him to stop Eggman's schemes, and bids Josh farewell before the latter returns home and reunites with Hal and Lisa. The film ends with Josh promising Hal to remove the XRI, until he sees Sonic's eye wink at him at the screen and starts playing Sonic X-treme again. Early stages Sega first came up with the idea of a feature-length Sonic the Hedgehog film during production of the cartoon in 1993. Newly-appointed consumer products director Michealene Risley, who was instrumental in green-lighting the series, was assigned to negotiate with several Hollywood producers to find support for the project. “I was basically driving the Sonic movie," Risley recalled to Kotaku in 2018. "I don’t know who came up with the idea – whether it was Tom [Kalinske, Sega of America CEO] or Shinobu [Toyoda, Sega executive vice-president and COO] or me, or we talked about it as a group – but having come from the movie world, I was always pushing those things."[1] Tom Kalinske, however, was hesitant on the idea of a movie, recalling how 1987's Masters of the Universe damaged the namesake toy-line and how the critical and commercial failures of Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter stained the reputation of their namesake video game franchises. Kalinske noted to Kotaku that "There is really is that fear that a bad movie could potentially hurt your brand. The Sonic brand was strong enough to probably withstand it, but there is that fear."[1] Despite Kalinske's concerns, Sega was highly enthusiastic about the project, according to Risley. "It all depends on the timing of the movie, the look of the movie, whether you go live action or animation. [The film failing] was never an issue for us."[1] After about a year of negotiations, Sega struck a development deal in August 1994 with MGM and Trilogy Entertainment Group, led by producer Pen Densham, with Densham serving as executive producer of the planned movie.[1] After securing the deal, Sega and MGM tapped Richard Jefferies to help come up with a screenplay for the film. Jefferies had previously written the cult classic The Vagrant for MGM in 1992, and had worked with Risley during her time at Marvel Comics to help write a proposed film adaptation of the Silver Surfer character. According to Jefferies, Sega wanted the ill-fated Sonic X-treme game, which was in development for the then-unreleased Sega Saturn, to tie-in with the movie, adding that Sega was "trying to co-ordinate the two and make the two compatible."[1] Sonic would have also been portrayed through heavy use of computer-generated imagery.[1] Jefferies' treatment contains a number of references to the franchise's games, with a notable example being Josh's school assignment. In it, he writes about a World War II test pilot named Sonic, who was killed in a freak accident when he tried to break the sound barrier.[1] This is a reference to the technical files of the first game that provided Sonic the Hedgehog's original backstory. Jefferies' treatment was submitted to MGM in May 1995.[1] According to Jeffries, the draft received a positive reception among Sega and MGM executives, but Shinobu Toyoda sent a letter to Kalinske suggesting that Doctor Eggman be removed from the script, favoring a "strong/mean villain" to give the series a fresh idea.[1] Cancellation Before the project could be green-lit, MGM suddenly backed out of the development deal, and after an attempt to revive the film at DreamWorks went nowhere, the film was scrapped.[1] It is unclear why MGM chose to drop the film from their slate, though Pen Densham claimed the deal broke down due to creative differences between Sega and Trilogy, causing the latter to pull out and leave MGM with the bill.[1] Jeffries, however, blamed "Hollywood politics" for the film's demise, believing that the studios each wanted a higher share of the film's profits.[1] He also suggested that the character had trouble adapting to the decline of the 16-bit console market. "The focus groups weren’t responding to the evolution of the character," Jeffries remarked, "and the heyday of the character was behind them. Maybe they were hoping a movie could help reinvigorate that. But maybe it was a response to where Sonic was headed, and maybe MGM came to that conclusion themselves. I don’t know."[1] Jeffries speculated that the film's budget would've reached around $150 million, making it MGM's most expensive film to date, and suggested that the financial concerns were another reason for MGM abandoning the film.[1] MGM’s early ideas weren’t that bad, they were imagining a Who Framed Roger Rabbit type movie. Mixing live-action with animation..the studio executives weren’t that excited and shot down the idea, thinking it was too expensive. They instead chose an incredibly bizarre script for the movie written by Richard Jeffries. The script featured a 16-year old boy who suffers an accident that later gives him the ability to morph into a hedgehog, and the boy decides to use his new power for good. Since it had absolutely nothing to do with Sonic, SEGA demanded rewrites. Later Super Mario Bros. came to theaters and was a complete and utter failure. Both SEGA and MGM suddenly didn’t think video game movies were a very good idea. MGM then realized they had a new James Bond movie in the works so they ditched SEGA. Sega and Ben Hurst Sonic Satam movie: that's right everyone's favorite sonic cartoon almost got A movie, A decade after MGM’s failed Sonic movie, one of the writers of SatAM called Ben Hurst pitched a movie acting as a continuation of the show, this time animated. But, darn Ken Penders had to get involved. He pretended to be helping Ben, and then went up to SEGA and claimed that Ben was trying to steal the Sonic franchise. This killed any attempt of Ben’s movie idea being made. Being the jerk he is, Penders then brought up his own concept for a movie to SEGA. Sega and Ken penders Sonic Armageddon: This was the movie that Penders pitched to SEGA, the plot seemed to be much darker with Mobius being destroyed and roboticization being much more gruesome then in the cartoon. Most of the important characters are not shown and a few of them have major redesigns (the biggest being Snively, who’s now more cyborg-like). SEGA was interested, but Sonic X was airing and they didn’t think it would be worth it to have a show AND A movie out at the same time with different continuities. This went far enough to have concept art and a trailer. ..a very awful trailer- Ken penders knuckles the echidna movie: In the early 2000s, wind was caught of lead writer Ken Penders’ alleged attempt to get an animated feature film centered around Knuckles the Echidna into development, the key studio of choice being DreamWorks SKG. His proposals were rejected (according to Penders) not out of disinterest, but due to severe legal complications regarding the copyrights to any Sonic characters developed in connection to the license by any party, which are said to essentially render the story thus far created through the intertwining roles of Japanese and American-conceived characters and concepts entirely limited to the media in which they first appeared—in this case, the Archie comic book series. (It is believed that this same snag is the reason for Sonic’s suspiciously unnamed home planet featured in Sonic X.) To this day, it is supposed that, due to these complications, Sonic and his friends will never grace the big screen in any form not sanctioned by Sega of Japan in whatever form they choose, and the odds that elements originating from the pages of Archie, including such central elements as the Dark Legion in this case, are extremely slim due to the same set of circumstances. In a self-published article, Penders mentioned that the film proposed would have been an animated feature, though whether the animation would have been traditional or computer-generated is unknown. Sega and Ken penders sonic the hedgehog movie: that's right the sonic Archie comics almost got a movie, In the mist of the coming dispute between Archie and their freelancers there was some reflection by Ken Penders on his Twitter. In fact the reflection may have revealed more than reflected. He and SEGA were planning on a film project earlier in the decade that would be based on his work for Archie. The film was scheduled to be released in 2011 but one unfortunate event would prove to be the setback that resulted in the project being discontinued. Penders explains more: Ken penders: I have documents that show SEGA & I were trying to launch a film project based on the work I did for the Archie comic series, I had meetings with them in person in Hollywood, at their offices, at several E3 shows and #comiccon . One thing you need is someone within the company who believes in your project, and that person untimely passed away on us, I had the backing of the producedirector of the FOX animated X-MEN series, who was aiming for a 2011 release. We considered SEGA Licensing Director Robert Leffler a personal friend as well as business associate. The project was designed to establish a global Sonic continuity based on the Sat-AM and Archie series with SEGA’s blessing. The film would have defined Sonic and Sally as an official couple for the franchise. Sega and Sony's cancelled sonic the hedgehog movie on 3 December 2013, Sony Pictures Digital Domain Names, Inc., a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, filed a notice of registration for three inactive websites adressed as "SonicTheHedgehog-Movie.com", "SonicTheHedgehog-Movie.net" and "SonicTheHedgehogMovie.net". The registrations were reported by The Sonic Stadium on 7 December, but neither Sony Pictures nor Sega confirmed the existence of a proposed film project at the time.[21] On 20 March 2014, a film adaptation was first hinted when The Tracking Board released a rumor about the film, stating that it would receive a "Dark Knight treatment" and posted a writer shortlist of proposed writers involved.[22] On 10 June 2014, the official Sonic website was updated, with a locked section listing "TV and Movies."[23] Later that same day, at a private Sega/Sony Pictures press conference, The Hollywood Reporter reported the confirmation of the film, and that Sony had green-lit the project.[3] It was revealed on 21 June 2014 that Sonic the Hedgehog and its eventual successor films will be a separate continuity from the Sonic Boom continuity.[24] On 19 November 2014, Van Robichaux stated that the film production team is "aiming for [a] PG-13 [rating]".[25] On 31 October 2016, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Tim Miller, who had left directing Deadpool 2 due to creative differences, had been hired as executive producer for the film and that Jeff Fowler will assume directorial duties. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller are also confirmed to write the script.[4] Van Robichaux, the former writer of the Sonic Movie, before being replaced by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, said some more details about the production of the Sonic Movie while it was being produced by Sony Pictures. -Jeff Fowler was attached to direct the movie as far back as when the project was still at Sony. -The reason why Sony didn’t produce movie was because of the 2014 hack and a lot of the new executives that were brought to oversee the project didn’t like the direction the movie was taking. -Sega and Van clashed over Dr. Robotnik’s name. Van wanted him to be named Dr. Robotnik as it would be easier for American audiences to swallow and would be “more intimidating”, but Sega wanted him to be named Eggman. -Van clashed a lot with an unnamed Sony executive (most likely Amy Pascal) But wait there's more....someone on Reddit i guess managed to find more leaked info about Sony's sonic movie...Now this could be fake, but seeing how the 2014 Sony hack happing it wouldn't be surprising if this is true "It would've originally stayed more close to the games and would have been like a combination of Sonic 1 and Sonic Adventure in terms of story. I think this leak is real considering how many early plot synopsis there were during production of the movie, and also because it talks about a casino and a lead human male and female role (the film is currently going under the name "Sonic The Hedgehog: Casino Nights" as a working title, and now we have a cop and his wife confirmed in the story). And Also because Sony had an entirely different vision for the film than Paramount does. Sony's idea was to make a more darker origin story for the characters. Paramount seems to be wanting to make a comedy adventure family film considering it has comedic actors like Jim Carrey and Tika Sumpter involved. When Paramount got the rights to the film they completely redid the script and the story. Here is a supposed leaked early draft of the film's plot (this includes the ending): "Sonic (Schwartz) is a tearaway teenage rebel hedgehog living in the forest near Green Hills, Montana. He was mutated by experiments by Doctor Robotnik (Carrey), along with several other animals, who escaped years ago and now live in peace. Tails and Knuckles aren't mentioned in the script, but it can be inferred they're around. Doctor Robotnik's experiments centered around ancient golden Incan rings, which the animals took with them when they escaped. Sonic is restless and wants to see the world. He's caught speeding in Green Hills town and arrested by the sheriff, Tom (Marsden). He quickly becomes a viral sensation online, and draws the attention of Dr. Robotnik, who comes to Green Hills to get back the rings. Despite Tom trying to protect Sonic, he's captured by Robotnik and taken to his government lab. Tom is able to break inside with the help of town locals who have befriended Sonic, and together they free him. A last stand takes place in Green Hills as Robotnik launches an assault with gadgets and robots he's created, but is foiled by traps laid by the townsfolk and Sonic. Robotnik is blown up, survives, and is then arrested for his illegal experiments becoming public. Sonic is hailed as a hero, but rather than wanting to see the world, he decides he wants to stay and protect his home, Green Hills. Ends with him running down a highway." When someone asked if he goes fast in the film, the leaker responded this: "He goes fast a few times, but it didn't read very exciting. It's more like zipping down highways or quickly leaving a room and popping back in with a chili dog, which happens once. Oh, I forgot to mention there are a couple of oblique references to the game. Robotnik has divided America up into 'Zones' in a map at his lab. He actually says, "I need back up to the Green Hills Zone!" at one point. Sonic speeds past a signpost making it spin around, which I took to be a reference to the spinning signs at the end of levels." When someone asked how close it was stay true to the games, they responded: "The way it read, it was meant for people who remember playing Sonic years ago but not much else. The references are as general as you can get, in that there is Sonic, there are rings, 'Green Hills'. It doesn't adhere to any storyline from the games, comics or anything else. To be honest, it felt like an Alvin and the Chipmunks or Smurfs movie."" Sega and paramount pictures upcoming sonic the hedgehog movie It was announced on 2 October 2017 that Viacom-owned Paramount Pictures had acquired the film rights to Sonic the Hedgehog from Sony, replacing the latter as distributor. Sony had temporally shut down production before the switch after placing it into turnaround.[6] The announcement came after co-producer Neal Moritz's Original Film banner signed a first-look production deal with Paramount the prior month, ending their previous deal with Sony, and several months after Sony's film financing partner LStar Capital ended its deal with Sony due to a string of box office failures from the studio.[26][27] Despite the change of studios, the production staff working on the film remained employed and moved to Paramount as well.[6] This is not the first time Paramount and Sega have crossed paths - from 1969 to 1983, both were subsidiaries of Gulf and Western Industries. On 22 February 2018, an official press release was put out confirming the film's move to Paramount and a release date of 15 November 2019, a date that was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter two days prior.[28][29] Sega will have creative input into the project and will co-finance it with Paramount, who will release the film worldwide.[28] Independent outlet Omega Underground reported on 4 March 2018 that the film's producers were circling Junkie XL to compose the film's musical score, reuniting him with Miller once again after doing the score for Deadpool. The site also reported that Paramount was aiming to begin filming at some point in July, backing up story co-writer Van Robichaux's speculation he tweeted a month prior.[30][31] On 1 April 2018, it was announced that filming was going to start on 30 July in Vancouver, instead of Atlanta as previously reported.[32] On 29 May 2018, it was reported that Paul Rudd was in talks for a lead role as Tom, "a cop who befriends Sonic and will likely team up to defeat Dr. Eggman". Paramount later clarified that this was not the case, but that Rudd had been considered for the role at one point. The same day it was revealed that the film will have a budget of $90 million.[33] The following day, it was announced that James Marsden had been cast in an undisclosed role,[34] later revealed to be Tom Wachowski. On 7 June 2018, it was announced that Tika Sumpter was cast to star opposite James Marsden in an undisclosed role.[35] On 12 June 2018, it was later stated that shots of the film would be filmed at Vancouver's Highway 19 during mid-September 2018, and that the movie's current title is "SONIC".[36] Soon after, screenwriter Patrick Casey revealed that for the film, Sonic would have a design that was still him and yet a "little more realistic".[25] At Too Many Games in 2018, Johnny Gioeli stated that “Sega Has Nothing To Do With The Sonic Movie”.[37] Takashi Iizuka soon after corrected though, that he would be supervising the film.[38] Sonic the Hedgehog was originally slated for a 15 November 2018 release, but after Sony Pictures' turnaround, it is now scheduled to be released in the United States on 8 November 2019 by Paramount Pictures.[1] In an exclusive IGN interview the first official poster for the film was released on 10 December 2018, revealing its official title as Sonic the Hedgehog. Tim Miller explained Sonic's redesign: "That was always Stage 1 of adapting it to what the real world is and what a real animal would be like, it would be weird and it would feel like he was running around nude if he was some sort of otter-like thing. It was always, for us, fur, and we never considered anything different. It’s part of what integrates him into the real world and makes him a real creature. <...> I don’t think SEGA was entirely happy with the eye decision, but these sorts of things you go, ‘It’s going to look weird if we don’t do this.’ But everything is a discussion, and that’s kind of the goal, which is to only change what’s necessary and stay true to the rest of it."[2] Filming Principal photography commenced on 30 July 2018 at Vancouver, British Columbia, and continued until 30 September 2018. During filming, the picture was shot under the working title "Casino Night", a reference to the level in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.[39] A casting call was ordered to run on 18 Aug 2018, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm PT and 19 Aug 2018, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm PT for residents of Ladysmith, BC. The roles were for the "townsfolk" from the fictional town, Green Hills.[40] Filming ended on 16 October 2018.[41] Despite this, more filming took place in downtown San Fransisco in late October.[42] Well that was a very long post...Anyway guys let me know what you think of these cancelled films down below

-Van clashed a lot with an unnamed Sony executive (most likely Amy Pascal) But wait there's more....someone on Reddit i guess managed to find more leaked about Sony's sonic movie...Now this could be fake, but seeing how the 2014 Sony hack happing it wouldn't be surprseing if this is realif "It would've originally stayed more close to the games and would have been like a combination of Sonic 1 and Sonic Adventure in terms of story.

Hi, everybody, Ed here. Here on RSP, we've got an extensive and complex canon going on which all of the characters fit into. But one of the things that keeps coming up - and is subsequently never addressed - is lore. I'm not going to lie to you: the established lore is immense. With so many new people joining in, I'm worried that such extensive backstory might scare new folks away. We don't want that. So this post is dedicated to the lore of this subreddit, and hopefully, can become a complete compendium of the important and relevant information concerning our characters and the locations they come from. I'm going to post the lore concerning my characters as an example. If you have anything to add, post it in the comments below, and I'll add it up here. Remember: This is established lore. Try to avoid posting things that you are planning on doing; focus on things that have already been talked about, even if they've only been mentioned once. Also, try to avoid including characters in your lore. We have your characters' info as per their original post introducing them. We don't need more info on them, just on the world that they inhabit. With all that said, let's get started.
Species
Race
Description
Guardians
A species of transcendent beings from the fringes of reality, the Guardians do not protect the various species of the universe; rather, they are defenders of entropy. They have the unique ability to see the threads of chaos that weave through the universe, and whenever something threatens entropy's place in events, they are charged with correcting it. (For example, they are responsible for keeping demigods out of human wars.)
Shadows
The Shadows were the antithesis of the Guardians. They were a violent race, which turned its attention to Earth a hundred years ago. They were defeated by Earth's heroes, completely wiped out in the wake of the battle.
Sylphs
The Sylphs are, for all intents and purposes, a dead species. They were a fairy-like people, invisible to almost everyone; they were unseeable by anyone that they did not explicitly trust. They were powerful warriors, but were wiped out by an unnamed enemy.
von Reichert Vampires
Circe von Reichert's family has grown into a respectable sovereign nation. Her children are fast, strong, and well-educated by Circe herself. They do not share in Circe's unique special abilities, but they have inherited her resistance to sunlight, and are only slightly weakened when outside during the day.
Sangron's Vampires
Count Sangron has been creating a large family inside the Baltic Empire over the past century. The power of the vampires depends on what generation they are. The weaknesses they possess also depend on the generation. First gen vampires are only weak to decapitation and holy weapons. Second gen vampires are much more vulnerable to holy weapons, and also are weak to silver. Third gen vampires are weakened when in strong sunlight, but not harmed. Fourth gen vampires are badly hurt by sunlight, and can die from extended exposure. Fifth generation and beyond are vulnerable to all typical vampire weaknesses. First Generation Vampires are not converted through biting, but converted through magic like Sangron did to himself.
The Senshi
The Senshi are a race of protector spirits with power levels ranging from just above human to those of gods. They are lead by Kami no Senshi, the being created by Maximum Monkey to defend the universe. An fierce sense of loyalty is common for Senshi.
The Twilight
Little is known about the Twilight. Is it a power source or is it a race? Seen only in a single family line on earth, the only living Twilight, or user of Twilight, depending on which theory you believe, is Elektra Hart.
The Chosen
The Chosen are a race indistinguishable from humans save for their control over what seems to be some form of magic. Their powers come from the universe choosing them at random from a pool of every sapient organism on earth. The Chosen have no particular consistencies, but may exhibit differing eye or hair colours from regular humans.
Kyslers
A race of humans that have complete control over crystal. Rarely do children of this race have strong powers but if they do the amount of power they can attain is endless. Their abilities extend beyond crystals and they have been known to train people to use the energy of the cosmos.
Groups
Organization
Description
Refuge
Originally founded by Clarence "Fat-Cat" McGaw, the group was intended to be a safe haven for supers who did not want to take a side in the battle between good vs evil. The group was handed to Dr.Jackson Dark, a geneticist who had worked with McGaw in the past. Dark became paranoid that the supers within Refuge would eventually overpower him, so he had them all killed and amalgamated their DNA in his own projects. Refuge faded into obscurity, and was recently revived by Dark's great-great-grandson, Teri Tucker.
Warlords
A group for supers who are of the more direct approach to getting to their goals. Often seen as villains, they aim to change the world in a different fashion than most. It is Led by Mercia, who is a strict, but fair leader.
Felix Industries
Another organization that can be attributed to Fat-Cat, Felix Industries has been the leading weapons and technology developer since its inception. Fat-Cat originally started in the business of theme parks, focusing primarily on his signature park, KiddieKat Land. Felix Industries only grew from there, and now has extensive weapons systems and a complex teleport grid that spans both Earth and Mars.
GenCorp
A company that remained completely underground until just recently, they were focused solely on the creation and enhancement of metahumans. They were shut down after the SupeHuman War.
Adeptus Astartes
This group is the collective name for the Martian police force. The most famous of the group is the Grey Knights, who is a group of diligent psykers, aiming to keep the peace in the most effect way possible. One of he less known branches is the Iron hands, who are actually all failed Psykers, choosing instead to specialize in siege warfare and artillery work. An off hand note is, that in secret, even from Siegfried, this group is a fanatical cult, worshiping St.George as their god, seeing his strength as nothing but divine power in motion.
Lucky Frog Inc.
Luck Frog Inc. started as a chain of casinos until Eruka began investing into other industries like food and entertainment, allowing her to open chains of things like grocery stores and theatres. She incorporated these into the SRZ.
Neo-Protectors
The Neo-Protectors are a group founded by Shizen no Senshi as the successor group to the Terra Protectors. They are dedicated to defending the planet earth from any sort of superhuman threat. It is currently lead by Yas and Shizen.
The Bloodletter's
After the super, Hikaru announced his goal to unify supers and humans, the organization The Bloodletter's revealed themselves. Believing that supers were above humans, they began several terrorist acts, including attacking the White House and destroying the Vatican. After the original leader Charles Haywood, committed suicide, his second in command Furnace took the lead. Now they are building strength waiting for a weak moment to strike.
CAN🍁CO
Often jokingly referred to as Ras-Cran-Co, CAN🍁CO is a major beverage company based out of Vancouver, BC, that bought out PepsiCO in the 2070s, offering a wide range of cool, refreshing beverages.
The Fang
